Freedom.

The other night I realized how painfully empty my food shelf was in the apartment pantry, so I grabbed my keys and went out to get in my car and drive to the store. When I got to the parking lot I couldn't find my car anywhere. I walked around for a few minutes looking for it before the light bulb turned on: I left it at work. I had walked to campus, and then, because I was too lazy to walk back and get it, I had just walked home to my apartment......I still need to go to the store. Acted upon.

Agency (Preach My Gospel Ch 3, Lesson 2)

2 Nephi 2:26
And the Messiah cometh in the fulness of time, that he may redeem the children of men from the fall. And because that they are redeemed from the fall they have become free forever, knowing good from evil; to act for themselves and not to be acted upon, save it be by the punishment of the law at the great and last day, according to the commandments which God hath given.
We are FREE. Every one of us is free. I am free, and I can make of my life whatever I want. I can act for myself without having to be acted upon. The Messiah died so that I could act for myself. What the God in Heaven most desires for every one of us is that we learn to act for ourselves; make good decisions; make bad ones and learn from them; be happy. We are given every single thing we need to be successful in this.

2 Nephi 2:27
Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which are expedient unto man...
You can choose to change and become better! It's amazing! You can choose to be happy!

Others like myself may feel that once you feel forgiveness for your mistakes it is the most amazing and precious thing to you, and it is! And you begin to loathe what is wrong. When once you slip back and approach, even in the tiniest degree, what you were before the light, your loathing and disdain turns inward because you now fear wrong becoming part of you again. The most amazing part of all of this is that Christ felt that, too. That very feeling. He also then suffered for those slips and mistakes you make. He can bring forgiveness to you, and your Heavenly Father can help you change into something more than you ever imagined. Choose to let Him do that. You are free to choose not to be a slave to fear, guilt, sin, or addiction. Christ bought you that freedom. In a garden, and on a cross, and in a tomb He paid that price.
